Mary is delighted to continue her life-long passion for supporting health and wellness, through Tai Chi Instruction. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University. Working primarily in the field of Maternal Child Health, Mary has held positions in clinical practice, case management, and teaching.
Mary's initial introduction to Tai Chi was through a class offered at her local church many years ago. She enjoyed Tai Chi's gentle challenge, both mentally and physically, and soon began to recognize its many health benefits. As she continued with increasingly sophisticated classes, she realized that this "meditation in motion" is well-suited to students of all ages, and could be enjoyed through all the stages of life. Her love for Tai Chi and encouragement from her teachers led her to attend Instructor training workshops offered by the Tai Chi for Health Institute and she has achieved Board Certification in multiple programs.
Mary is a Premier Member of the Tai Chi for Health Institute and member of the United States Tai Chi Community (USTCC). Her gentle nature in teaching, coupled with her skillful execution of Tai Chi forms, are an ideal combination in an instructor! For Mary, Tai Chi is a wonderful journey and she enjoys sharing her love of this health-promoting practice with Wellesong students.
Highly qualified Visiting Instructors are periodically invited to conduct classes and Workshops in specific Tai Chi Styles and Forms.
